RVAS is offering seven hours of instruction to improve your field identification skills. Bob Black and Harry Fuller will lead a workshop for novice birders — beginners with little or no experience. At the same time, Ron Ketchum and Vince Zauskey will lead a workshop for “intermediate” birders—those who have been on some field trips, have basic field identification skills, and want to increase their skill level.

Both classes will be held Thursday, April 3rd from 6:30-9:30 P.M. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2000 Oakwood Drive, Medford. Saturday morning field trips (8:00-11:30, location TBD) will enable you to try out your newly gained knowledge. Field trips will be kept small. Please bring your binoculars -- RVAS has a limited number available for loan.

If you have a field guide to birding, please bring it to the Thursday evening session. Field guide selection will be discussed in the Thursday sessions, and information on discounts for purchase of field guides in Medford and in Ashland will be distributed.

The cost is $50 Additional persons at the same address may register for $30. Children age 12 and over are welcome in the Novice class when accompanied by parent.
